Rajasthani Popular Mohanthal Sweets

Gram flour – 1 cup
Ghee – 1/2 cup
Milk – 1/2 cup
Sugar – 1 cup
Water – 1/2 cup
Green cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
Chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios, cashews) – 2-3 tbsp
Saffron (optional) – 1 pinch
Directions
- 1. First, heat ghee in a pan. Then add gram flour and fry well on medium flame. Fry the gram flour till its color turns light golden and aroma starts coming from it.
- Now, add milk to it and mix well so that no lumps are formed. Let the milk cook till it dissolves well.
- Now pour the syrup into the roasted gram flour and mix well. Allow the mixture to cook for 5-7 minutes while stirring continuously.

- When the mixture becomes thick and starts releasing ghee, add chopped nuts to it and mix.
- Now, pour this mixture on a greased plate and set it aside. Spread it evenly and then leave it to cool.
- When the Mohanthal cools down, cut it into small pieces and serve.
Notes
- If you want to keep Mohanthal soft, then keep the ratio of milk and ghee correct.
- You can also add dry fruits or khoya in place of nuts.
