Ingredients

  • Carrots – 1.5 kg (grated)

  • Milk – 1 liter

  • Khoya (mawa) – 250 grams

  •  Sugar – 250-300 grams (according to taste)

  • Ghee – 4-5 tablespoons

  • Cardamom powder – 1 teaspoon

  • For garnishing – Cashews, almonds, raisins (chopped)

Directions

  • Prepare carrots- Wash the carrots, peel them well, and grate them.
  • Cooking in milk Heat milk in a large pan, Add grated carrots to the milk Cook carrots and milk on medium flame until the milk dries well in the carrots Keep stirring in between so that the carrots do not stick to the bottom.
  • *Add ghee and khoya After the milk dries, add ghee to it and fry for 5-7 minutes Then add mawa (khoya) and mix it well with the carrots Fry for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add sugar Now add sugar and cook the halwa till the sugar melts and mixes well. Fry the halwa till it becomes thick and shiny.
  • Add cardamom and dry fruits Add cardamom powder and mix the halwa well. Garnish the halwa by adding chopped cashews, almonds, and raisins.

Notes

  • Serve hot halwa garnished with dry fruits.
  • Tips – Adding khoya makes the halwa taste like Halwai. You can increase or decrease the amount of ghee and sugar according to your taste and preference.
  • If you want, you can add a little saffron soaked in milk to the halwa. Your Halwai-style carrot halwa is ready.
