Ingredients

  •   1 cup chickpeas (soaked overnight and boiled)

  •   200 grams paneer (cut into cubes)

  •   2 tbsp oil

  •   1 large onion (finely chopped)

  •   1-2 green chilies (chopped)

  •   1 inch ginger (grated)

  •   2-3 garlic cloves (crushed)

  •   2 tomatoes (pureed)

  •   1/2 tsp turmeric powder

  •   1 tsp red chili powder

  •   1 tsp coriander powder

  •   1/2 tsp cumin powder

  •   salt to taste

  •   1/2 cup curd

  •   2-3 tbsp cream (optional)

  •   Green coriander (to decorate)

Directions

  • First of all, keep the boiled chickpeas aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add finely chopped onions and fry them until golden.
  • Now add green chili, ginger, and garlic and fry for a few minutes.
  • Add pureed tomatoes and cook till the oil starts separating.
  • Now add turmeric, red chili, coriander, and cumin powder. Mix well.
  • Add boiled chickpeas and mix well with gravy.
  • Add curd, mix well, and let it cook for some time.
  • Lastly add the paneer pieces and mix gently so that the paneer does not break.
  • If the gravy seems too thick, you can add some water.
  • Add cream mix well and let it come to a boil.
  • Your Paneer Chole Masala is ready. Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve with hot roti or rice.
